About Me

What can I say? I’m unashamedly a geek, and I can organize your knowledge. I’m a sucker for a good story and a little bit of a coffee snob. Psychologists debate how much of our personality is nature or nurture, but considering my crazy childhood, I’ve sort of decided to ignore that whole question and make my own way.

The title of my blog “coffee spoon measured life” is derived from my favorite T.S. Eliot poem The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock.

Do I dare
Disturb the universe?
In a minute there is time
For decisions and revisions which a minute will reverse.

For I have known them all already, known them all:—
Have known the evenings, mornings, afternoons,
I have measured out my life with coffee spoons;
I know the voices dying with a dying fall
Beneath the music from a farther room.
So how should I presume?

Also, there’s a Dave Matthews Band song (in which Alanis Morissette joins for a haunting duet) called Spoon. The lyrics followed me since the day I first heard the song, back in college.
